Junior Field Service Engineer – Birmingham, UK

Main responsibilities

  • Visual inspection activities, cleaning and report to management team;
  • Carry out meter readings and sensor cleaning essential for the operation of the PV systems
  • Routine maintenance activities on module mounting systems, fence and gates, inverter and transformer stations (excluding equipment)
  • Routine maintenance activities on monitoring and communication equipment (data logger, routers, sensors, etc.)
  • Routine maintenance activities on security system devices (cameras, barriers, etc.)
  • Execute corrective measures as a first response to help identify issues on the PV systems
  • Engage and manage subcontractors
  • Stock management
  • Called to perform reactive and corrective maintenance activities, from time to time to manage subcontractors and control quality of activities performed
  • Execute preventative and correctives activities of electrical systems, under supervision
  • Support with the installation of PV modules, wiring and inverters

Skills and qualifications

  • Electrical experience, 2yrs preferred
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
  • A willingness to learn and take direction from experience engineers
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems
  • Positive attitude to work and passion for the industry
  • Experience in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems for industrial sites;
  • Experience in the photovoltaic business would be a plus but not essential
  • Good knowledge of MS office tools;
  • Valid driving license
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team player
  • CSCS card holder
  • NVQ level 1 or 2 preferred but not essential
